Friday, Aug. 29: Come out and play!
Blind Contour Sketches: Receive a complimentary sketch by blind contour artist, Ian Sklarsky. Blind contour is a method of drawing in which the artist draws a line and never looks at the paper, making every sketch unique. Niche Night NYC: Come out and Play!: A dance party dedicated to grunge, pop-punk, 90’s & 2000’s alternative music. Playing The Offspring, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Green Day, No Doubt, Beck, System of A Down, The Smashing Pumpkins, Third Eye Blind + tons of alt throwbacks, 90’s dad rock, numetal + some 90’s/early 2000’s pop mixes for fun! Saturday, Aug. 30: Kel’s Burger Fest!
Kel’s Burger Fest: If your nostalgia brain hits you with “Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger, can I take your order?”, this is for you. Actor Kel Mitchell is teaming up with Bucket Listers to host Kel’s Burger Fest, a brand new food festival devoted to, as the name suggests, burgers. Guests will be able to enjoy a lineup of live DJ sets, a 90s dance battle, Finish That Song and on-stage Trivia, an arcade game lounge, a vintage flea market, carnival games, rides, and an Orange Soda Fountain. Watson Adventures’ Whodunit at the Met Family Scavenger Hunt: Join Watson Adventures on a murder mystery scavenger hunt for kids 10 and up! A killer is on the loose at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and it’s up to you to stop him! Follow the trail of clues and answer tricky questions to solve the crime. Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 5th Ave., Manhattan. 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. $35-$45.
Sunday, Aug. 31: Unicycles!
The 45th Annual Richmond County Fair: The Richmond County Fair is turning 45, and they’re kicking off the celebration with three full days of food, fun, and everything that makes Staten Island shine. Every year, over 15,000 people gather on our 35-acre museum village to enjoy carnival rides, live music, local food, shopping, and the sights and sounds of Staten Island’s biggest summer tradition. Historic Richmond Town, 441 Clarke Ave., Staten Island. 12 – 8 p.m. $7-$15.
16th Annual NYC Unicycle Festival at Hudson River Park: Free for everyone, the New York City Unicycle Festival brings together unicycle riders of all skill levels. Participants and spectators can enjoy races, workshops, exhibitions, and games like unicycle basketball and hockey, a demonstration by King Charles Troupe, games, and relays. There are also opportunities for newcomers to learn how to ride. Pier 76 at Hudson River Park, 408 12th Ave West, Manhattan. 12 – 5 p.m. Free.
