The NYPD arrested a Bronx man who they believe stole thousands of dollars during a series of bank robberies on Staten Island.
On March 1, the NYPD arrested 58-year-old Dennis Rivera in connection to these crimes.
According to police, the first incident took place at 11:20 a.m. on Jan. 29. At this time, Rivera allegedly entered a Northfield Bank, located at 1481 Forest Avenue, and passed the bank teller a note demanding money. The teller complied, handing over $2,000 in cash, and Rivera allegedly fled the scene.
Rivera allegedly struck again on Feb. 1. At 10:05 that morning, Rivera allegedly entered a Richmond County Savings Bank, located at 1270 Clove Road, and handed the bank teller a note demanding money. The teller complied and Rivera allegedly fled the scene with over $7,000.
The third incident took place at 1:36 p.m. on Feb. 10. At this time, Rivera allegedly entered a Chase Bank, located at 666 Forest Avenue, and passed the bank teller a note that demanded money. The teller complied, handed over $7,500, and Rivera allegedly fled the scene.
Finally, at 1:40 p.m. on Feb. 27, Rivera allegedly entered TD Bank, located at 1818 Victory Boulevard, and passed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller complied and Rivera allegedly fled the scene with $100.
Rivera has since been charged with four counts of robbery.
