The I.S. 89 Cougars girls basketball team won a close game Tuesday against the School of the Future Bulldogs, 22-21.
The winning basket was a three point shot by the Cougars’ Tricia Fratta, 13. Kathryn Kozma and Qituwra Muhammed also led the Cougars.
Kozma, 5’ 11”, was one of the strongest scorers with 7 points and Muhammed was a strong on defense.
Alex Lee, who coaches the Cougars for Manhattan Youth, said the team is playing very well and is now 4-0.
The I.S. 89 boys are also playing well, having just won their first game of the year, last week, beating the Baruch Lions 50-13.
